Janet Baughman grew up on an eight-acre farm in Western Michigan where she discovered her passion for ceramics. Janet is an extremely talented artist. She uses pastels, mixed media of pencil, oils and collage landscapes on paper. She designs and makes very sophisticated, stylized paintings. She derives inspiration from her ceramics as well as the natural beauty that abounds where she lives for her paintings. The soft landscapes create a feeling of bucolic peace and serenity. Janet lives in Virginia where she raises and trains horses. She continues to look for new avenues to express herself in her art. Her passion for her surroundings that she loves will allow her to translate her talent into unique and beautiful artwork for many years to come.
