  Robert Charon

Robert Charon’s work can be described as an all-embracing balance of converse yet connected imagery. His works are anecdotes of light and dark; from translucent to opaque; from abstraction to realism. Working in watercolor or acrylic, his style is diverse and captures life’s nuances in both subtle and dramatic ways. Greatly influenced by Eastern culture, Robert’s work evokes peace and tranquility.

An ardent traveler, the artist is strongly drawn to tropical environments. He particularly enjoys the Hawaiian islands. Imagery that is reminiscent of his travels often finds it’s way onto the canvas in the form of lush plant life and and blue water shorelines. The depth and translucence of his paintings call viewers to reflection.

Charon persued his art education through college scholarships in Arizona and Utah where he attended Brigham Young University. During a break in his undergraduate years, Robert spent two years in Taiwan. There he developed a passion for Asian traditional art. This love along with influences of Andrew Wyeth and Ed Mel, allow him to recreate the subtleties of everyday life.

“I live and breathe art. I love to paint scenes of things that most people pass by without notice”.
